Field Medic
When you’re in the inherently dangerous business of saving lives, or doing evil things to evil people, it is only a matter of time before you catch the other end.
Even with no prior medical experience, you can learn how to take life saving measures for yourself, or more importantly, someone else if they have suffered a stabbing, a gunshot (or multiple) wound(s), and many other forms of traumatic injuries.
Our general curriculum is as follows:
- Moralities & legalities (good Samaritan laws)
- PPE / Bio-hazard precautions
- Patient assessment, triage, (ABC’s) & scene safety
- Emergency medical communication
- CPR / AED
- Basic wound care (blisters, bites, stings, sprains, fractures)
- Hypothermia & heat illness
- Shock / heart attack / cardiac arrest procedures
- Seizure, stroke & hypoxia procedures
- Hemothorax / tension pneumothorax
- Chest seals / Thoracic decompression
- Wound packing / hypotension & tachycardia
- Care / evacuation under fire
- Tourniquet use
- Hemostat agents
- Buddy saver / improvisation
You will need:
- AN OPEN MIND
- A writing utensil
- A notepad
After registration, you will be emailed a comprehensive document with everything you want to know about the course. Our instructors are ready for more questions if you have them. Breathe when you need to, and rest if you must, but just do NOT GIVE UP!
